In 2018, trade industry will face changes

One of the main market trends is the reorientation of consumers to discount formats

Recently, an active redistribution of network and non-network retail shares has been observed at the market.

According to various expert estimates, there is still parity at the market: the share of organized retail trade today is about 50%, the rest of the sales are carried out through local outlets. Now there is no hard confrontation between retail players, but this is the prospect of the next few years.

One of the main market trends is the reorientation of consumers to discount formats, including in food retail. Of course, the main reason was the economic crisis, but against this background, other problems caused by the internal contradictions of the market appeared.

In the current situation, ATB Corporation has developed a strategy that allowed not only to preserve customers, but also to increase their total number. Over the past few years, there has been an increase in the number of goods in the check, while the average cost of goods also increases with inflation. There is a tendency for some growth in the share of the middle segment in the turnover of the ATB network.

According to many experts of the food retail market, which correspond to the own research of ATB Corporation, there is a personnel problem throughout the industry, which will only get worse in the next few years. The main reason for this situation is the low level of labor remuneration of specialists compared to the average European one. At this stage, its only solution is to increase the salary level of employees.

Over the recent period, ATB Corporation has collectively increased staff income in the stores of the retail chain to 50% and continues to work in this direction. Of course, not only our company, but the entire industry will be forced to increase this figure until it reaches a balance even if compared with the neighboring countries - Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic States and other countries.

At the end of 2017, ATB-Market confidently continues to reach the pre-crisis level. Now in Ukraine there are 917 retail outlets in 237 localities of the country.

The plans for the next year are to open more than 100 new stores and to overcome the milestone of 1,000 stores, to redesigne 50 existing and to increase presence in new regions for the company - they are Western Ukraine, Odesa region, and also in the capital of Ukraine.
