Borys Markov: The scale of ATB Corporation guarantees the availability of products and protective means for the population

The COVID-19 virus pandemic has become a global challenge. It is time for the retail industry to rigorously check compliance with the state of emergency.

«ATB Corporation has immediately introduced a quarantine system in the epidemic conditions, and at the same time we analyze the rapidly changing situation and develop options for our response to the economic, logistical, social and other consequences of the infection spread. For the leader of national retail, 1095 grocery stores of which are visited by more than three and a half million Ukrainians daily, the stability of our network is a responsibility of the state level».
Borys Markov, CEO of ATB Market

The company operates in 280 settlements in 24 regions of Ukraine, many of which are located in district centers and large villages. In the conditions of restriction or cancellation of long-distance and suburban passenger traffic during the epidemic, the availability of essential products and goods for the residents of these settlements will be as important as the availability of medicines.

«The architectonics of building our company makes it possible to withstand such loads. ATB Corporation has nine state-of-the-art multi-temperature distribution centers of category "A", where over 9000 tons of different products and goods are processed daily, its own powerful fleet of more than 600 specialized vehicles, and most importantly - over 64 professionally trained, cohesive and socially responsible employees».
Borys Markov, CEO of ATB Market

However, the company is aware that the pandemic situation can significantly affect the industry. It has already changed consumer sentiment and technology, in particular the transition to contactless sales worldwide. Thus, Nielsen's customer service experts indicate that 41% of those surveyed in cities of Ukraine with the population of 50,000 or more claim that they have experience in ordering food delivery online. At the same time, 9% began to use delivery more often during the last week. At the same time, 53% of respondents say they have dramatically reduced their food consumption outside home.

One of the effective means of responding to the situation, the company believes, is the extension of the ordering service and delivery of products to the client. Thus, ATB Corporation together with Rozetka and Nova Poshta launch a service for the remote purchase of three types of food kits and hygiene products. The order will run in express mode and be executed in one day.

«We are monitoring the situation in the industry and are ready to cooperate with central and local authorities, our partners, the public for the sake of preserving the lives and health of Ukrainians. We must unite to meet the threat».
